Is there anything better than enjoying the views of sea and architecture with a refreshing glass of something in hand? Maybe, but whiling away an hour or two at Malaga’s rooftop bars is right up there.

With spectacular views across the city and out to the Mediterranean Sea, Malaga’s rooftop bars offer fantastic scenery as a backdrop to your aperitif.

Atico - one of Malaga's rooftop bars

Open all day long, the 15th floor Àtico Bar & Restaurant has views over the port, the cathedral and the city. There’s an open-air terrace for warm summer evenings and winter days, and a stylish restaurant with panoramic windows so you never miss the view.

There is a charge for non-guests, but a drink is included in the cost.

This is a really popular bar with fantastic views across the city. The nearby church is so close you could almost touch it.

Between Soho and Muelle Uno, La Terraza de Valeria graces the Room Mate Valeria hotel. The views down to the port, towards the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro castles and across Plaza Marina to the Paseo del Parque are memorable.

Excellent stopping point on your way in or out of the city, with the bus stop just two minutes away.

La Terraza Chinitas

This is one of the newer rooftop bars in Malaga, but already popular. In the centre of town, you have to walk the stairs to the fourth floor of the Chinitas Urban Hostel.

An intimate terrace, the cocktails will not break the bank. When permitted, they host Flamenco concerts once a month.
